The annual "Hop-What-You-Got" hop off is always the highlight of the Scrape by the Lake show and this year competitors took it to the next level. In Double Pump, JR Lomando's 63 Impala defended it's 2001 title with a solid 42" hop, edging out his younger brother Pauly's 64 Impala's 40" height for the $400 win. In Single Pump, John Sierra hopped his 64 Impala SS to a 30" height, crushing last year's record of 18" and collecting $100 cash. In the Truck Hop, it was open season, as the big boys didn't show...giving Jason Vaillancourt an easy win with 8" and $100. In the Open Dance Comp, Don McGarry's 92 Mazda held off all comers to win the cash prize of $100. Look for more cash and more classes, including "Luxury" next year! |
